Context
Novartis ERC (Ethics, Risk & Compliance) is a crucial division within Novartis responsible for overseeing and managing aspects related to ethics, risk, and regulatory compliance. This division focuses on promoting ethical values, providing training in business conduct, and offering guidance to resolve ethical dilemmas. Additionally, it is responsible for identifying and managing potential risks, developing contingency plans, and continuously monitoring to minimize negative impacts.
Objective
The compliance division ensures that the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations by implementing internal policies and conducting periodic audits to detect and correct non-compliance. The ERC's work is essential for protecting Novartis' reputation, building trust among stakeholders, and fostering a corporate culture based on ethics and integrity, thus contributing to the company's long-term sustainable success.
My Role
My role in this project was to lead the design team for products created in the Behavioral Science department, aiming to develop tools for monitoring and reporting risks across the various departments within ERC.
Deliverables
- Creation and support of three tools for monitoring data related to Behavioral Science with different target audiences and data granularity
- Support the web development of products and maintenance thereof
- Creation of visuals for internal communication in different formats, including images, presentations, or interactive infographics
Product example
The following video was produced for the 2023 ERC Culture Risk communication campaign. The yearly campaign focuses on managing and mitigating risks associated with organizational culture, and promotes behaviours and norms within the company that support and foster ethical compliance and integrity.
In particular, the video presents the results of the ‘Culture Risk’ section from the 2023 Global Ethics survey. Highlighting the values, norms, and behaviors prevalent in the organization that can negatively impact ethical and regulatory compliance. These can manifest in various ways, such as unethical business practices, failure to adhere to internal policies, and behaviors not aligned with corporate values.
