Context

The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Results Report 2019 illustrates the progress made against set targets and highlights crucial gaps that need to be addressed. When GPE adopted the GPE 2020 strategy for 2016-2020, partners aimed to confront the learning crisis directly by emphasizing education quality and equity. The Results Report 2019, the third under this strategy, demonstrates significant advancements in improving learning outcomes for all children. The report reveals that more children are enrolling in and completing school across partner countries, with notable progress in learning achievements.

Structured around the GPE theory of change, the report presents progress and accomplishments measured against the milestones established in the results framework.

Objective

The main objective of the GPE Results Report 2019 was to provide a comprehensive overview of the progress made towards the GPE 2020 targets. The report aimed to communicate these advancements clearly and effectively to stakeholders, highlighting both achievements and areas needing further attention. The ultimate goal was to ensure that the data presented could inform future strategies and interventions to improve education quality and equity worldwide.

My Role

During my collaboration with Accurat in Italy, I was part of the data visualization design team. My role involved designing visual representations of the data provided by GPE. We explored different ways to represent the data, ranging from conventional to more creative and exploratory approaches. I contributed to the iterative design process, incorporating client feedback to refine the visualizations until we achieved the final product. This project allowed me to apply my design skills to create impactful visualizations that effectively communicated the report's key findings.

The deliverables for this project included:

• Downloadable PDF Report: A comprehensive document featuring detailed visualizations of the progress and achievements of GPE against the results framework milestones.
• Results at a Glance Web Section: An interactive web section summarizing the key findings of the report, designed to be user-friendly and accessible. This section included the option for users to download the full PDF report.
